Remember how I said something could still go horribly wrong?
Well, something did not go horribly wrong. But while frantically working away this weekend, I decided this was not the way to go. I have been wanting to open up my shop again ever since we got here, but starting over in a different country and other work made that difficult. When I did have the time, I just started working away, forgetting that I’m not simply doing what I did back home. I’m working with new fabrics, new paint and new tools. And for me to make something good, I need to get to know them better and play some more.
I’ve had so many ideas over the past months, but got stuck on the older ones that were in the same line as my previous creations. But the time it all took allowed me to learn that I want to make something a bit different and have more fun with it (because struggling to open up shop as fast as I could wasn’t much fun). I’m pretty excited about it again.
I was, however, waiting for a long time to change up the look of this blog and didn’t want to wait any longer. So I started tinkering and this is what I have so far. It’s not completely finished and I put in my old blog logo while I work on a new one, but I’m happy with it for now.
These photos are from a walk around Mount Douglas park on Monday. I hadn’t been back there since that first time when we had just arrived here, even though I had planned to go often. But in our quest for “daily life” we forgot that we also came here to get some more outdoors time in those daily lives! So I wanted to make up for lost times and went on a beautiful walk. On my way back I got lost, but was happy to find two friendly women who lead me back to the road. It always takes a new perspective and a clear view to realize you’ve been walking around in circles.
